Tea Time

After a hard day’s work, I had tea with two of my favorite ladies. We drank green tea from SerendipiTea called Fiji that has undertones of pineapple and papaya, while we gleefully savored some of  Alice’s Stick Cookies. These are some of the best cookies I’ve ever tasted. Just enough sweetness, just enough crumble to the cookie.

Sift

Our friends brought a box of Sift Cupcakes for dessert to our dinner party one night, and from then on we were hooked.  We were ecstatic when a new location opened up in San Francisco on California and Fillmore St. We’ve already been there several times to get our sugar fix. Their cupcakes are moist with just the right amount of sweetness. We usually get the Pink Champagne, Stud Muffin, or Limonatta, along with their fabulous macaroons.  -c.c.

Salad-On-The-Go

Quinoa Salad

We all know how busy life can get. With an on the go lifestyle, one of the things that we neglect is a healthy eating habit.  I made this quinoa salad one weekend that is quick, easy, light, and delicious. It has quickly become one of our favorite dishes.

The Good Stuff

Ingredients

Quinoa

Cherry Tomatoes, quartered

Avocado, cubed

Scallions, diced

Cilantro

Olive Oil

Salt

Black Pepper

Cook 1 cup of quinoa. I like to use Trader Joe’s Organic Quinoa because it cooks quickly, about 10-15 minutes. You don’t need to measure the ingredients. Just cut the amount that you desire. Mix the cherry tomatoes, avocado, scallions, cilantro,  into the cooked quinoa, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper to taste.  You can have it by itself or pair it up with beef, chicken, or fish.
